HarkBot

HarkBot is a specialized AI agent operated by Hark Labs, Inc. designed to act as a proxy for authenticated users. Unlike traditional crawlers, it does not index the web or aggregate data for model training; instead, it performs discrete, user-requested actions such as navigating to specific pages to assist with research or administrative tasks. The bot is highly transparent, providing cryptographic verification methods via HTTP Message Signatures to ensure that every request is tied to a legitimate user session.

HarkBot crawls only when explicitly triggered by a signed-in user to perform a specific function, such as filling out a form or retrieving information from a service the user has already authorized. It does not engage in background crawling, prefetching, or scheduled indexing. Website administrators can verify the legitimacy of these requests by validating the cryptographic signatures provided in the request headers against the public keys published by Hark Labs.
